What is AACTI?
Since 2002 AACTI has been an advocate for 17 publicly-funded post secondary institutions in Alberta. In addition to providing a forum to advance their collective messages, AACTI has also been a catalyst both for the adoption of system-wide operating efficiencies and for the pursuit of new initiatives tailored to strengthen AACTI members' relationship with industry, community-based NGO's, and government.
Learn more... Scholarship, Applied Research and Innovation Influence Our Core
The teaching and learning environment in AACTI member institutions has been shaped by a history of intersecting priorities of government, industry, and community. Faculty and staff have been assembled to develop, guide, and implement strategies and tactics that serve these priorities. Innovation is a guiding principle that directs excellence in teaching and learning within the membership. Faculty are routinely engaged in scholarly work to ensure the institution's education offerings are relevant and graduates are equipped with the necessary skills to be valued and productive workers.
Through recent financial support from Alberta Advanced Education and Technology, AACTI has directed capacity building applied research and innovation investments designed to better align AACTI member institutions competencies with Alberta's publicly-funded innovation system. This effort, coupled with visible campus-based investments, is maturing an innovation platform that offers Pan-Alberta reach, facilitates the movement of knowledge into application, and enables active connections with community-based innovation receptors, developers and decision-makers.
